Brandon Family Photos: Seattle Chicago Crossover

leave a comment »

In the beginning of September I had the pleasure of visiting another photographer friend in Seattle. Kenani (of Kenani B Photography)  and I met at Photoshop World in Vegas last year and bonded instantly. We had a great time out there and kept in contact,so this year, to save a lil dough I flew out to Seattle and we had a photo filled week.

The last day I was out there I had the pleasure of shooting some family photos for them. We went up to  a park in the mountains, (literally!)and roamed around there for a while. It was so beautiful, like most of Seattle is, I could have spent the whole day there. It’s always fun shooting another photographer and their family because as photographer’s we so rarely get to be in front of the camera. It’s a creative explosion with a little bit of a control issue. Good times! All in all, it was a good week and we got alot of fun, non work related, photo stuff in which is always good for the soul. Now let’s all work on getting Kenani to Chicago!

Judy+Rigo: Chicago Engagement Session

leave a comment »

Judy and I met back in college . She was one of my cluster mates and that year, the laughs just kept on coming. We sang, we danced, we avoided homework like the plague. Ya know, Good times! I’m so glad she’s found someone to keep the laughter goin..  We took their engagement pics at Navy Pier in downtown Chicago. They were total troopers with the super strong wind and chilly weather and weren’t afraid to model for me around the big crowds! Rigo kept Judy laughing the whole time whispering little things in her ear.Rigo is the cheese to her macaroni and they are going to make such a great bride and groom. I can’t wait to be a part of your big day!

Rachel Kanner: Chicago Portrait Photographer

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Rachel Kanner of Rachel Kanner Music. She’s a musician from the area but currently operates from New York where she goes to school. She was looking for headshots and I was looking for a gorgeous model! You’ll see what I mean.  I’m not sure which I envied more, her amazing eyes or her ridiculously gorgeous red hair. Either way she rocked it out modeling for me and definitely got the edgier look she was going for. Thanks Rachel for becoming one of the newest models for D. Sampras Photography!

My absolute favorite from her set!

Post Senior Shoot: Chicago Portrait Photographer

with one comment

Last month I took a bunch of my senior models out for a fun portrait shoot. We went for a little bit of a vintage look with some of these. They were such troopers in the sweltering heat! We had a great time roaming around Independence Grove and changing clothes behind bushes! Take a look at these fierce ladies, awesome pics, and some of the bluest eyes I have ever seen!

Cori: Chicago Portrait Photographer

I am proud to introduce you all to my high school bestie Cori. We have been through quite a bit together both good times and bad. I love  her to death so I was honored when she asked me to take some portraits for her. It was a good chance to pretty up my portfolio! They turned out fantastic and I definitely had one of those “You look so grown up. WHEN DID WE GROW UP!?” moments while editing these! Mid-twenties crisis perhaps? Anyway, enjoy these images and make sure to let her know just how beautiful she is!

Take a look at this next photo. All I kept hearing was “I’m not a model! “

YEA RIGHT.

This next one is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE.

Stephanie: Chicago Boudoir Photographer

About a month ago I set up a mass Boudoir Shoot for about eight girls that were interested. It took a lot of planning, I rented  a hotel room for two days and we had a BLAST!  We had music, fruit and cheese, and hair and makeup. It was so much fun and I am proud to say I got some of my best work out of it. It was such a great experience I would love to do it again! Any girl that are interested email me and let me know dina@dsamprasphotography.com .

Stephanie has actually had some experience as a starlet. She’s done some modeling and acting here in Chicago so she was bustin out her best moves! She’s my vintage movie star. She pulled off that vintage look so well with the short hair and bright red lipstick. Keep an eye out for the pic with the giant sun flair and blown out background. We caught the last of the sunlight and it was PRICELESS.

Sydney must have been a model in another life. She was totally rockin this shoot. She was fantastic and her set turned out so gorgeous. I like to call her our feminist of the group because she has such a strong spirit and is all about female empowerment and it showed in her pictures!
